Your information

Privacy

Last updated October 19, 2026

The short version
  • We use your information to build your plan and run your account. That's it.
  • We never sell your information, show you ads, or share it with your school.
  • Your degree audit is stored privately and deleted as soon as your plan is built.
  • We never copy your student ID number into your plan or anywhere else.
  • You can ask us to delete everything at any time.

This page explains what Academa ("we," "us") collects when you use myacadema.com and your plan, why, and what you can do about it. Questions go to help@myacadema.com.

What we collect

  • What you give us when you order: your name, email, school, and the majors and minors you're planning for.
  • Your degree audit: the PDF you upload. It includes your courses, grades, credits and your student ID number.
  • What you add to your plan: grades you enter, classes you mark done or move, schedules you build, and notes.
  • People you share with: the email address of anyone you invite to your plan, such as a parent.
  • Sign-in details: your email address. If you use Continue with Google, Google also gives us your name and profile picture. We never see your Google password.
  • Payment: when you pay, Stripe handles your card. We see that you paid and the amount, never your card number.
  • Basic technical data: our hosting and sign-in services keep standard logs, like IP address, browser type and sign-in times, to keep the service running and secure.

How we use it

  • To build your plan from your audit and your school's published catalog, and to update it when you ask.
  • To sign you in and let the people you invite see or edit your plan.
  • To email you about your order and your plan: sign-in links, a reminder if we're waiting on your audit, and a note when your plan is ready.
  • To answer you when you write to us, and to fix problems.

We don't send marketing emails unless you ask for them, and we don't use your information to train AI models or build profiles of you.

Your degree audit

Your audit is stored in private storage that only Academa can open. We use it to build your plan, then we delete it when your plan is marked ready. If you send a new audit for an update, the same thing happens: it's deleted once the update is done.

Your plan keeps your courses and requirements. It never contains your student ID number.

Who else handles your information

We use a few services to run Academa. They handle your information only to provide their service to us:

  • Google Firebase stores your account, your plan and your uploaded audit, and sends sign-in links.
  • Netlify hosts the website and the planner.
  • Resend sends our automatic emails, like "Your plan is ready."
  • Google Workspace is our email, so messages you send to help@myacadema.com live there.
  • Stripe processes payments.

Beyond that, we share information only if the law requires it, or with whoever takes over Academa if the business is ever sold, and they'd have to follow this policy. We don't share anything with your university.

Sharing your plan

You decide who sees your plan. Anyone you invite can see it, and if you give them Can edit, they can change it too. You can remove someone at any time.

How long we keep it

  • Your audit: until your plan or update is built, then deleted.
  • Your account and plan: as long as your account is open. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your plan and account details within 30 days.
  • Emails you send us and basic order records (like what you ordered and when) we keep as long as we need them for support, taxes and accounting.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we have about you, correct it, or delete it. Email help@myacadema.com from the address on your account and we'll take care of it.

Security

Your plan is behind sign-in, your audit sits in private storage, and only Academa can see orders and audits. No system is perfectly secure, but if something ever went wrong that affected your information, we'd tell you.

Age

Academa is for college students. It isn't meant for anyone under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll email you first.
